holiday training schedule 07
Sunday, October 28, 2007 / 10:03 PM

hi tkd. please ignore the previous post's training schedule, this is the most updated one as of 28/10/07:

TKD HOLIDAY TRAINING SCHEDULE 07

do turn up for as many trainings as you can, as we really need to improve the standard of our club in general. i'm sure we all don't want to look like a bunch of noobs in the eyes of j1s next year :X

also, for those who have been warned by their section leaders of poor attendance - this is your chance to make it to 80% for this year. =)

love,
jieying.

Very, very tentatively, the holiday training schedule here.
(There’s loads of trainings, you can’t get bored >D)

Also, a few things:

You’ve probably heard of the 80% attendance criteria before, haven’t you? Joce has been going through the attendance diligently and, da dum, there’s actually quite a few people who haven’t reached the target. Actually, quite a lot – if you want your exact figures you can ask Joce.

Anyhow, the club’s tightening up a little during the holidays. If your second cca or such clashes with taekwondo during term time, it’s understandable, but during the holidays there shouldn’t be such problems; or if there are, we’re giving the schedule early so you can arrange things to your liking.

By the end of the holiday trainings, Joce will be tabulating the final attendance for the entire year for submitting. If you don’t reach 80% attendance overall, no can do; the admin’s pressuring the teachers to keep the attendance level high.

I’m fairly certain that all of you still here (in the club, ++ reading the blog) still have interest in taekwondo and want to remain in, so please, please don’t let your attendance die. If you have issues with any of the above, speak to your section leaders about it, and we’ll see what compromises we can reach? We really don’t wish to throw people out; Joce will be tinkering such that all your trainings will be counted, even the optional ones, which will boost your attendance majorly so help her.

All the same, I guess we’re all responsible young adults at this point in time, please don’t come for training merely for attendance’s sake – come because you want to. If you don’t want to take taekwondo as an official cca but still want to come for trainings and such because well, you love this club :D:D, tell your section leader and we’ll find some way to work things out, okay?

Love,
Chris.

!! I realize that the um, details are missing, so: (this is the important bit)

1. For people with second ccas, once term starts, Wednesday trainings are compulsory. If there is clash on Fridays, tell your sl and you’ll be excused.
2. From now on, all absentees without valid reasons (second ccas, etc) will be taken as excused without leave until they give an mc/letter to their section leaders (with the maximum deadline being by the next week's trainings).
3. No more than 2 parents’ letters per person per term.
4. If you have less than 80% attendance by the end of holiday trainings, there’s a high likelihood that you’ll be out of the club. Don’t worry though, if you’re in danger you will know because we have awesome responsible section leaders who will hound your footsteps.

Open House!
Thursday, October 11, 2007 / 3:59 PM

Hello, many things tomorrow!

For open house, besides OH performances, we'll be manning a booth for taekwondo. The actual timings for open house will be from 10am - 4pm, so that's a total of six hours, and traffic will be heavier during the lunchtime period so allocation will be as follows:

10-11am: Szeying's section
11-12am: Zhihao's section
12-1pm: Huifang's and Zhiyi's sections
1-2pm: Szeying's and Zhihao's sections
2-3pm: Huifang's section
3-4pm: Zhiyi's section
(everyone from the section is down; if you're in the OH performance, you'll be running off for the performance then coming back after)

Your section leaders will be messaging you tonight, if you have problems with the timing (commitments to other ccas/ tour guiding) or simply cant come down (chem o test etc) please tell them by tonight, thanks.

During OH

We won't have to sell ourselves (yet, it's not cca orientation), so just think of it as extra training.

Attire: half gi, with the tkd shirt on top (to be given out tomorrow).

What we will be doing:
1. Kicking targets (making lots of noise)
2. Sparring (normal and war sparring)
3. Kicking the sandbag

4. Teaching onlookers how to do the front/ turning kick

Essentially just train for an hour, and say hi to people. Awesome. Obviously we won't be having a booth-booth but yeah you knew that already.

That aside, for open house performance people tomorrow, we are in pressing need of practice so:

Attire:
Full gi

Plan:
8am: Warm up by then, on the rooftop
8-8.30am: Self-training
8.30am sharp: Start rehearsals with music
9.45am: Move equipment downstairs
10am: OH starts
11am & 2pm: OH performances

Sounds scary, I know. BE BRAVE, rest early, drink many waters, etc.

Love, Christine

First, I'm not certain if this is allowed to be made public but: we all passed grading! Ha!!

Open house approaches; specifically, this Friday (9-4pm). Because things get confusing real fast, here's a list of the trainings (open house and otherwise) for the rest of this week.

1. Tuesday, 2pm: Open house training
2. Wednesday, 1.30pm: Open house official rehearsal
3. Wednesday, 3pm: Normal trainings (bring padding! Wear full gi)
4. Thursday -> If you're dying to rehearse for open house, go ahead
5. Friday: OPEN HOUSE ZOMG.

Details for Friday: if I'm not wrong, I'm right. Um. Our performances will probably be at 11 and 2. I think. After Chinese Dance, before Fencing.

ALSO where are all the poster stuff + who's manning the booth + are we doing by sections + umum okay we'll sort all this out on Wednesday's training, yay.

Drink lots of water(!!),
Christine

Hello guys, I'm sorry for the lack of updates! From now on we'll be placing a sticky post at the top of the page to inform re when the next training is.

Anyway, for last minute prep (because we all need it), here are awesome life-saving videos that'll help us ace tomorrow. Three cheers!

Yellow Belt Pattern

Green Tip Pattern

Actually, all the poomsae patterns (except the white belt's and the yellow tip's, because they aren't meant to be remembered) are located on this site. Peruse for interest and wonderment!

Lastly, tomorrow, 8am at the Toa Payoh MRT station. Do Not Be Late, or Harsh Repercussions will Fall Upon You (actually I lie, but just- don't). If you're making your way there alone (more like: your daddy's fetching), be at the grading area by 8.30am. We're starting at 8.40am sharp, so get clothed by then.

Also: I have TAPE HAHAHAHA. Bring your belts, thank you.

Ta,
Christine
