More details will be coming soon =)

Okay I think thats all for now! Let's work hard for this CIP! And jia you for orientation performance and IVP!!! =) =)

Open House
Thursday, December 31, 2009 / 4:10 PM

Hey,

There is an open house performance rehearsal organised by the council on the 4th and 12th of January 2010. For those involved in this performance, I really hope you can keep yourselves free on the following days.

4th Jan [School Rehearsal]
6th Jan [Normal Training + Club Rehearsal]
12th Jan [School Rehearsal]
13th Jan [Actual Performance]

On the coming Monday, the duration of the rehearsal is from 1pm to 4pm. However, so far our rehearsed performance had several problems. Firstly, we do not have full attendance for even one time. Secondly, much prompting is needed. Lastly, we have not tried the performance with the music. Hence, we have to come down in the morning on Monday to carry out our own rehearsal and practise with the music before puting up a good show in front of the school. As you have noticed, I have set the time to be at 8am. I urge everone to be punctual even though it may not be official training. There are altogether 18 performers this time. The club needs every person to be responsible for your part in the performance so as to impress the juniors.

Generally...
Poomsae: Coordinated, Precise and a Loud Shout at the end
Self Defense: Aggresive, React Fast, Don't hesitate
Target Kicking: Scream and Shout, Move Super Fast
Plank Breaking: Shout and Scream, Break the plank, Kickers and Holders must adjust the distance

I have listed the individual points one would need to note. Please be clear of them and come for Saturday trainings if you have any doubts or want to practise more.

1. Yi Ling [Poomsae/Self D/Plank Breaking]
-Self D, after winning, you may want to go to the centre and bow before everyone gets up and leave the mat to signal the end of this showcase and that you won. Plank breaking, you will be holding the planks for Kai Yu and Bertram. You will be part of the human obstacle for Ren Jie's flying side kick.

2. Elizabeth [Poomsae/Target Kicking/Plank Breaking]
-Poomsae, some changes were made in the training yeseday with regards to the formation. So just ensure that you are clear of your position. Plank breaking, you are holding a plank for Kai Yu.

3. Luo Hui [Poomsae/Plank Breaking]
-Poomsae, you will also have to note your position in the poomsae formation. Plank breaking, you are holding for Wei Jing.

4. Wei Jing [Poomsae/Self D/Target Kicking/Plank Breaking]
-Plank breaking, the people holding your planks are Luo Hui, Jomain and Wen Jing. Do adjust the distance so that your strikes can break the planks. You will also be an obstacle for Ren Jie's flying side kick, beside Jaron.

6. Jomain [Self D/Target Kicking/Plank Breaking]
-Plank Breaking, you are holding a plank for Wei Jing and you will do a side kick as an obstacle for Ren Jie's flying side kick.

7. Jaron [Self D/Target Kicking/ Plank Breaking]
-Plank Breaking, you are holding for Wen Jing's Back Hook and lying down beside Wei Jing as an obstacle for Ren Jie's flying side kick.

8. Sam [Self D/ Target Kicking/ Plank Breaking]
-Plank breaking, try to choose the 5 planks you are comfortable with doing your mega chop earlier. You are holding a plank for Bertram. Basil and Jonathan will help to set up the bricks.

9. Basil [Self D/Plank Breaking]
-Self D, I feel that you revived a bit too early after getting hit by Sam. There's a part where you got to stone quite long for Sam to finish hitting Jaron before you can use the pole to hit Sam. So maybe you can get up a little later so that after you grab the pole you can hit Sam without much lag time. Plank breaking, you will help to carry the bricks for Sam's mega chop.

10. Yit Khai [Target Kicking/Plank Breaking]
-Plank breaking, I think you have not tried with the planks yet. So in the next training, you can familiarise yourself with the formation and try out the slamming kick and jumping back thrust. Ren Jie will be holding the plank for your jumping back thrust and Wei Qi will be holding the plank for your slamming kick. You are holding a plank for Ren Jie's flying side kick.

11. Jasmine [Target Kicking/ Plank Breaking]
-Plank breaking, you are holding a plank for Jonathan's slamming kick. You will need to know the formation so that you will know when and how to enter and exit.

12. Wei Qi [Target Kicking/Plank Breaking]
-Plank breaking, you are holding a plank for Yit Khai's slamming kick. Just practise the formation more and it will be fine.

13. Zhen Ping [Target Kicking]
-Target Kicking, as yesterday was the first time you are doing the kicks, do train more in your free time. I'm sure you can be ready for the performance. Do ask if you have any doubts on the formations.

14. Ren Jie [Target Kicking/Plank Breaking]
-Plank Breaking, you are holding a plank for Yit Khai's jumping back thrust. For your flying side kick, Yit Khai will be holding the plank at the end. Your human obstacles are Yi Ling, Kai Yu, Jomain's side kick, Jaron and Wei Jing. Just adjust their positions and the plank if necessary. I think the plank should not be too far from the last human obstacle because yesterday when I held the hand mitt, the distance was too far.

15. Bin Hao [Target Kicking/Plank Breaking]
-Plank breaking, you are holding a plank for Wen Jing's back thrust.

16. Jonathan [Target Kicking/Plank Breaking]
-Plank breaking, you will help with the breaks for Sam's mega chop and Jasmine will hold the plank for your slamming kick while Bertram will hold the plank for your jumping back thrust.

17. Kai Yu [Plank Breaking]
-Plank breaking, Yi Ling, Elizabeth and Yit Khai will hold the planks for your strikes. You will help to hold a plank for Bertram before becoming a human obstacle for Ren Jie's flying side kick.

18. Wen Jing [Target Kicking/Plank Breaking]
-Plank breaking, Bin Hao will hold a plank for your back thrust while Jaron will hold a plank for your back hook. You will help to hold a plank for Bertram and Wei Jing.

All the best, hope to have a great performance for Open House. Happy New Year!

Bertram

    Submission of Nominative Entry

    05/01/2009
Submission of Final Team List and coaches

    14/2/2009

28/2-1/3/09 [NOTE: WE ARE NOT ALLOWED TO PARTICIPATE IN SPARRING :( ]
    Sparring Competition
    0900hrs to 2000hrs

  2. We are only allowed to send in 2 teams (3 players and 1 reserve) each for yellow, green and blue belt patterns and 1 team each for brown and black ones. According to the rules, only people who attained their brown belt in Jan 2006 is allowed to participate in the brown belt one and only black belters under STF are allowed in the black category. SO essentially, most of us are only eligible for yellow, green and blue, thus a total of 6 teams. However, it has to be noted that you can only participate in equal or higher belt levels than your obtained belt level after grading in Jan2009 basing on your base colour. (eg. green tip= yellow) Each person is only allowed to participate in ONE pattern team.

  3. Registration fee is $28.00/ pattern team.

yup! basically that's all you guys are supposed to know for now regarding the competition!!! so please do read through the basic criteria in point2 cos it's really important for everyone to understand that it is impossible for us to allow everyone to particpate :( yup so no matter what the end result maybe, we seek your understanding (:

okay on to other stuff!!

firstly, here's the tshirt design for IVP next year, we're spps to hand in the order forms in early jan next year, so please do indicate your interest either to me/ eileen/your section leaders. the price is not confirmed cos it depends on the number of orders they get, so for now just indicate if you're interested ba.

secondly, each schl can allow one photographer in eh! so which kind soul may wanna consider volunteering your services and be there to root for hctkd can also inform us!! (:

lastly, there will be an alumni exhibition match. so seniors regardless of which batch you're from, if you're interested, please do tell me. details are sketchy, but it does sound like some sparring/ competition thing and you'll get medals but your points will not contribute to hctkd's overall score in IVP. yup that's all i know for now eh haha. probably you all can tell me if you're interested, den i can ask ntu again (:

okay that's all!! realised this is a REALLYYYYYY long post. heh paiseh. anws happy holidays still!!

Hi all. For those who came down for training today, good job. Remember to revise your patterns and train your front and side kicks for the upcoming grading. :) JIAYOUs!

& the following was brought to attention today during official cca training which quite a number didn't turn up without any prior notice. So DO TAKE NOTE cause whatever's going to be mentioned in this post is VERY IMPORTANT.

1. Attendance
Dr Siva and Mr Guna are very serious about the attendance for offical cca trainings and they'll be watching our (each individual's) attendance closely. Those who have not been turning up for cca without very valid reasons will have to face the consequences and Dr Siva will not hesitate to dismiss you if necessary.

Just wanted to reinforce the new attendance policy again.

100% attendance on Wednesdays.

Absence without valid excuse => official dismissal letter
Absence once with excuse/MC => telephone warning
Absence twice with excuse/MC => official warning letter
Absence thrice with excuse/MC => official dismissal letter

Points to take note of:

1. Attendance will be taken once at 3.15pm and another time at the end of training, so please be early for training. If you are NOT there for any ONE of the attendance takings without telling your section leaders beforehand, you will not be counted as present.

2. MCs and Parent's Letter (for absence from school and household emergencies only) are to be handed in to your section leaders by the NEXT training. Any MCs or Parent's Letter not handed in within one week of the absence will not be accepted. Only MCs are allowed for medical reasons.

These are the people who didn't turn up for training and have no excuse.
-melissa
-samuel
-minhui
-willy
-noelle

For those who didn't turn up for training but had an excuse, be it valid or not, please pass us your MC or parent's letter to your section leader by NEXT TRAINING.

Also, yall can start doing stretches in your sections to facilitate your section leader in attendance taking. Be in PROPER FULL GI by 3.15pm. Mr Guna will start cca PROMPTLY at 3.30pm. Fall in with your shoes. After the run, all latecomers and those who are not attired in proper full gi (be it you forgot to bring any part of your gi, you did not wear a white shirt (for girls) etc) will be called out. For those not in proper full gi, you'll have to pay a $2 fine which will contribute to the club fund. Hence, please be responsible for yourself. Latecomers will be dealt on a case by case basis.

CCA will end by 6.30pm.

TAKE NOTE. With effect from the first cca when blocks are over (we'll inform everyone of the details when the date draws nearer), in future, if you will be absent/excused from any cca trainings on wednesday due to official reasons, you will need to download the EXCUSE FORM (under links), fill it up, get it signed and pass it to your section leader before the training itself.

There'll not be anymore cca trainings during the holidays as Dr Siva won't be around for the next week and the last week is to be left untouched for all to mug for blocks.

So everyone, please familiarise youself with the rules and check the blog often for anymore updates! Thanks!

ATTENDANCE POLICY
Tuesday, April 22, 2008 / 8:43 PM

ALL members of hctkd, please take note of the following-

Attendance policy:

100% attendance on Wednesdays.

Absence without valid excuse => official dismissal letter
Absence once with excuse/MC => telephone warning
Absence twice with excuse/MC => official warning letter
Absence trice with excuse/MC => official dismissal letter

Points to take note of:

  1. Attendance will be taken once at 3.25pm and another time at the end of training, so please be early for training.
  2. If you are NOT there for any ONE of the attendance takings without telling your section leaders beforehand, you will not be counted as present.
  3. MCs and Parent's Letter (for absence from school and household emergencies only) are to be handed in to your section leaders by the NEXT training. Any MCs or Parent's Letter not handed in within one week of the absence will not be accepted. Only MCs are allowed for medical reasons.

V. importantly: for those who have 2nd ccas, inform your section leader in writing before April 30th; excuses will then be considered on a case by case basis wrt each absence.

Also, for those with school events falling on training days, also inform your section leader BEFORE the training itself to have it approved.

This is w.e.f Wednesday, Apr 23rd's training onwards.
Please adhere to the above-mentioned points strictly.
Thank you.

we're going down, down!
Thursday, March 20, 2008 / 9:58 PM

sorry for the lag but anyway

things coming up!

for j2s:

1. PHYSICS AND BIO EXAMS (haha what art students hahaha!)

2. self-d course, where we learn self-defense from jackson (this saturday, march 22nd YES BEFORE BLOCKS and yes bio kids have spa, go after) for a few hours, i doubt more than three, and after which we'll spend next saturday facilitating 50 kids from secondary schools and teaching them self d for cip hours love and good will (and cip hours). yize's in charge, so ask him if you need more details/ want to sign up (90292876; unlike me, he doesn't bite)

we kinda need more people so please do sign up if you haven't yet! 50 kids - comparable to 500 monsters; awesome though each of us are, there might be a bit of trouble.

3. as you guys will have undoubtedly rejoiced over, next wednesday is a school holiday. we might have training >D current situation is still dubious so SLs will get back to you.

for other people (aka, j1s):

1. no training on friday, but

2. compulsory training on saturday (if you cannot make it, give your SLs an excuse letter). gaobean, yushu and junquan are coming on saturday morning (this saturday, 22nd) to whip you (into shape). 0930 to 1300, SLs (section leaders) will be messaging but pass the word, anyhow. wear clothes full gi and running shoes.

3. SLs will also get back to you guys re next wed.

for people in general:

1. grading is on the 6th of april, 0900, station 5 (as if that means anything to you). we will definitely be having >1 training before that, k.

Tuesday, February 19, 2008 / 8:15 PM

i will show you pictures sometime when we're not this busy, i.e. after tomorrow.

anyway tomorrow is orientation for the j1s BUT j2 life goes on as per normal, fall in punctually at 330 outside the audi, full gi. guna will be training you guys.

j1s will be registering with joce (outside audi) at 315pm. we'll all be falling in together, then some peoples will be running off to lead them through orientation while the rest of you get to kick things DDD:

also considering that the comp is in LESS THAN TWO WEEKS, for tomorrow's training, pattern people will be doing patterns (those who aren't in orientation anyway), namely the il/ee?! jang and sa jang groups.

i actually need a Runner to run with me to coro halfway through tomorrow, so if any of you want to throw yourself at me, you're more than welcomed. just tell me plz thanks.

... in short:

J2s: TRAINING TOMORROW IS AS PER NORMAL

J1s reading this:
1. Wear dark tee and shorts
2. Be outside the audi, dressed, by 3.15pm to register with Joce
3. Bring 116$s, we'll give you cookie.
4. This message should already be on the emb but tell your friends k. The money doesn't technically need to be handed in tomorrow but like I said, Cookie (Y).

SEE YOU ALL.

Saturday, February 2, 2008 / 3:16 PM

.... Okay, there has obviously been a hiatus. Not that we don't frequent this blog, we just don't.. update regularly; every hctkd-ian is smart enough to understand "every Wednesday at 3.30 (and Friday at 4.30, for J1s)".

But we update whenever there are new developments! And as such:

Training is officially not-in-session from now till 20th February, 3.30pm. This is due to several calamitous tidings, namely those of CNY and Cross Country (which is omg teh suck D:).

HOWEVER there are alternatives, because all of us yearn to train so. NTU trainings are available on tuesday evenings and sunday mornings, contact Zhihao at 94387643 if you so desire. We will also be down at the tkd room almost.. every day after school, because of the upcoming pattern competition, so if you have a craving for target kicking, just come by, and if we're there you can grab targets/ the sandbag and we'll have fun together. Yay.

(If any J1s are reading this, hi, and you're very welcomed!)

I also have very cool pattern videos (because we went to train in NTU today, under the tutelage of the great Celestine & Jianfa) which I will be uploading in the space below some time soon.

Love, Chrees.
